Justice Center: Building shell completed

At the Shenzhen Qianhai Justice Center both building shells of the two units  – stacked at right angles to each other – have now been completed. The law court building’s shape can already be clearly made out on the most recent site photos, with the upper element projecting over the plinth element on both sides, as if balanced on it. The building’s external appearance is influenced by the notion of a symbolic pair of scales – standing for the equality and justice of the legal system. The design also makes reference to the Chinese character 中 (zhong), which denotes “centre”, “middle” and “China”.
